ATHENS, Ohio – Erin Hunt held Ohio scoreless in all but one inning but the two runs the Bobcats scored in the fourth inning were enough to give them a 2-1 victory over the Rockets at the Ohio Softball Field on Tuesday.
Hunt (11-13) went the distance, scattering seven hits and striking out seven in the defeat but was dinged by a two-run homer in the fourth that turned out to be the difference.
Senior Anna Dixon scored on a wild pitch to give Toledo a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth but that was all the scoring the Rockets could manage against the Bobcats' Skipp Miller.
The Rockets (18-23, 11-12 MAC) and Bobcats (25-18, 15-6 MAC) will close out their series tomorrow afternoon with a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m.
