Erin Hunt records 600th-career strikeout and 57th-career win at Kent State on Friday afternoon

KENT, Ohio – The Toledo softball team hit three home runs to take the series-opener over Kent State 6-4 on Friday afternoon. The Rockets improve to 15-21, 8-10 MAC while Kent State falls to 10-26, 5-9 MAC.

Kent State led 4-2 through four innings when Toledo exploded for four runs in the fifth to take the lead. Leah Munson hit her first home run of the season and Aubrey Reed followed with a three-run dinger to push the Rockets ahead 6-4. The Golden Flashes loaded the bases in the bottom of the sixth, but Erin Hunt stranded all three runners and shut down the opposition in the bottom of the seventh to secure the win.

Reed led the Rockets' offense going 2-for-4 with two runs scored, three RBIs, and her second homer this season. Munson went 2-for-2 at the plate in addition to one RBI and one run. Riley Mohr's solo bomb in the third was her third this season

In the circle, Erin Hunt (11-11) struck out three batters, including her 600th-career strikeout in the fourth inning, for the win. Hunt now has 57 career wins and is tried for third all-time in program history with Patty Bartlett who won 57 games in her career from 1987-90.
