TOLEDO, OH – Toledo dropped a close battle against Dayton, 4-3, on Friday afternoon. The Rockets drop to 0-2 on the season, while Dayton improves to 1-1.

"I thought we competed very well today," said head coach
Al Wermer. "This gave us a chance to work out some bugs and continue evaluating our progress. We need to turn around and get ready for our two matches tomorrow."

Senior
Stjepan Sisko returned to his usual spot at the top of the Rocket line up and defeated Dayton's Carsten Fisher in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. Freshman Ernie Suksathaporn also record a two-set victory at the No. 6 spot vs. Andy Druffel.

Sisko and Suksathaporn recorded the only Toledo doubles win on the day. The Rocket pair defeated Dayton, 6-3, at No. 1 doubles.

Sophomore
Luka Vitosevic powered through a three-set battle at third singles vs. Bernardo Sanson. Vitosevic opened the match with a 6-2 victory before Sanson knotted the score in the following set. Vitosevic closed out the contest with a decisive 6-3 third-set win.

UT returns to Shadow Valley tomorrow to take on Valparaiso at 2:00 p.m. and Wright State at 7:00 p.m.
