CLEVELAND, OH - After achieving a perfect 4-0 record over the weekend, senior Nadia Zoubareva (Lake Bluff, IL) was named the MAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week.

This is the first career Player of the Week recognition for Zoubareva, and it marks the second consecutive week a Rocket has been honored by the league office (Martina Wodzinski, Feb. 17).

In Toledo's 6-1 win over Youngstown State on Friday, Zoubareva earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory at fourth singles and also took an 8-3 decision playing at No. 2 doubles with Ashley Frey. On Saturday, she earned Toledo's only point in its 6-1 defeat against Illinois-Chicago, winners of 130 straight conference matches and 13-consecutive conference titles. Zoubareva recorded a 6-1, 6-4 victory over UIC's Kristen McPhillips, a two-time Horizon League First Team selection, and with Frey rallied to win an 8-6 victory at No. 2 doubles.

"Nadia has been such a solid force for us in singles and doubles so far this year, and it's great that she was recognized with this honor," Tracy Mauntler, head coach, said.

On the season, Zoubareva has tallied a combined 20 singles and doubles victories. She's gone 5-3 in her matches at No. 4 singles and is also 5-3 at second doubles with Frey.

The Rockets have one match remaining on their indoor schedule, as the team travels to take on Cleveland State at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
