TOLEDO, OH - "Decide what you want, decide what you are willing to exchange for it. Establish your priorities and go to work." - H.L. Hunt.

Those words are exactly what our mindset was heading into this year. Each and every day we did just that, and we had a truly remarkable season. It's been a little over a week since we last put on a Toledo uniform, but it feels like months since we've had the opportunity to play the game we love. For most people, the end of a season brings a much-needed break. It's a time to relax and rest your body after a grueling couple of months. It's a time to catch up on the homework you conveniently put off completing. For us seniors, it's a time that our bodies embrace, but our minds and hearts are left with a sense of emptiness. Never did we want this day to come nor did we ever think it would arrive so quickly. We sit here with all this free time, time that we begged for throughout the last four years. Yet all we find ourselves doing is thinking about soccer, wishing we had to go to practice and reliving the best memories from our career.

When we think back on our time spent at Scott Park, we realize just how much soccer has taught us and how many of Coach Evans' crazy sayings are actually true. Probably his most famous quote is "Focus on the process and not on the outcome." This process, one that entails not only the development of us as soccer players and as a team, but also development of our character and us as people will continue on for the rest of our lives. We walked into this program as freshmen, not knowing what to expect out of the next four years, but willing to trust in those above us to lead us in the right direction. We did just that. As followers, we became leaders and now we watch those that we have led rise to the challenge, take the team and make it their own. The core, the cupcake, of Toledo Soccer will always remain the same. Tradition never graduates. Each class that comes along will add its own sprinkles to the cupcake and give the team its own unique identity. While we are sad to leave, we couldn't be more excited to see how this program progresses and the amazing things they will accomplish in the future.

Thank you to everyone who made this year truly unforgettable. It has been an amazing journey, a fortunate one filled with friends, laughter, memories and championships. We could not have asked for anything better. For all those who are still lucky enough to be able to put on that Toledo uniform, we present you with some words of wisdom. Cherish every match, every practice and every moment, because each year goes by faster and faster. Never look too far into the future, live in the moment, take in the memories and truly appreciate this opportunity you are given each and every day. While our story is now complete, yours remains unwritten. Fight as hard as you can, put in the extra work, be great in the moment and dream of the chance to play for another MAC title. Your story will be a great one because TRADITION NEVER GRADUATES.

With love, your 2011 seniors - Danielle Case, Kristen Lynn, Alyssa Niese, Ana Reynolds and Vicki Traven. The group collectively won 56 matches over their four years, tied for most in school history with last year's senior class, as well as captured three regular-season crowns (2008, ‘10, ‘11) and two conference tourney titles (2008, ‘11).
