Toledo, OH - Kristal Studer has been named to the 2011-12 Mid-American Conference All-Academic Team, the conference office announced on Monday.

Studer (Bright, IN - East Central), a junior recreational therapy major, has earned a cumulative GPA of 3.907 thus far in her academic career at Toledo. On top of that, she has also been a part of consecutive MAC Women's Cross Country championships in 2011 and 2012.

This past fall, Studer earned Second-Team All-MAC honors after placing 14th in the conference championship meet in a time of 21:41.9. She rounded out the Rockets' scoring five that all set a new conference record for lowest point total in the championship meet (33).

Also the fifth runner at the regional championship meet, Studer narrowly missed All-Region honors as she placed 26th in a time of 21:18.2.

Other members of the Toledo women's cross country program who are members of the 2011-12 MAC Cross Country Academic Honor Roll are sophomores Jessica Phillips (Attica, OH - Seneca East) and Megan Vogelsong (Defiance, OH - Defiance).

Sophomore Jacob Barnes (Sylvania, OH - Northview) of the Rockets' men's team was also a member of the Academic Honor Roll.

To be eligible for MAC All-Academic honors, an athlete had to be a non-freshman and possess minimum GPA of 3.0. Nominations were sent to the MAC from each school and were voted on by a panel of Faculty Athletic Representatives from each school.
