CONWAY, SC - Toledo snapped a six-game losing skid with a 10-7 victory in 11 innings against Coastal Carolina on Friday in the Chanticleer Classic at Watson Stadium/Vrooman Field. With the win, the Rockets improve to 4-8 on the season.

The Rockets scored one run in the ninth inning and three in the 11th to complete the come-from-behind triumph.

The Midnight Blue & Gold tied the game at 7-7 in the ninth frame. Senior DH Matt Delewski drew a leadoff walk and moved to third base on a failed pickoff attempt. After an infield single, senior 2B Joe Corfman plated Delewski with a sacrifice fly to center field.

Corfman finished the game 2-for-3 at the plate with three runs scored and three RBI.

The Chanticleers would load the bases with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, but a ground out ended the threat to force extra innings.

In the 11th, junior PH Andy Mix had a leadoff single. After a pair of works loaded the bases, sophomore C James Miglin was hit by a pitch to give Toledo a one-run lead.

Senior RF Jeff Cola then flared a single to center to plate two runs and give the Rockets the 10-7 advantage.

Senior RHP Matt Kuna (2-0) earned the win in relief, allowing no runs on one hit with two strikeouts over the final 4.0 innnings.

CCU's Ryan Connolly (0-1) suffered the loss, yielding four runs on four hits in 3.0 frames.

Toledo jumped out to a 3-0 lead to start the game. Leadoff hitter Corfman reached on an error. After a sacrifice bunt and walk, Miglin cleared the bases with a three-run home run down the left field line.

In the bottom of the first inning, Coastal Carolina got one of those runs back on Jacob May's first career home run off UT junior RHP Mike Hamann.

The Rockets regained a three-run lead in the third. Corfman delivered a leadoff double and scored on a senior 1B Mark Lapikas RBI single.

In the fourth, Coastal Carolina tied the non-league contest at 4-4 on the strength of a two-run round tripper off the bat of Daniel Bowman.

Toledo used the long ball to answer right back in the fifth. Delewski reached on an error and Corfman homered off the top of the left-field foul pole to put the Rockets up 6-4.

After plating a run in the bottom of the fifth inning, CCU took its first lead of the game, 7-6, with the aid of a two-run single off the bat of Sloan Gilliam.

Toledo will now play Ohio State (7-4) tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. at BB&T Coastal Field.
