XENIA, OH - Toledo continued its solid play as of late, notching a 7-4 victory against Dayton on Wednesday at AIA Stadium in Xenia. The Rockets have now won three of their last four games and improved to 6-9 on the season.

Sophomore LHP Ryan Wilkinson (2-1) was outstanding in his second start of the season, yielding one run on eight hits in 5.2 innings to collect the win.

UT also received 1.0 flawless relief frame from senior RHP Lincoln Rassi in his season debut. The Rockets' hard-throwing hurler has been suffering from arm problems through the first portion of the spring campaign.

Offensively, eight Toledo starters collected a total of 12 hits, including sophomore C James Miglin (3-for-5, RBI), senior 2B Joe Corfman (2-for-5, 2 RS) and junior RF Andy Mix (2-for-4, RS, HR, 2 RBI) with multi-hit efforts.

The Rockets produced runs in six of their at-bats against a trio of Flyers' (4-11) hurlers to win back-to-back contests for the second time this spring.

Toledo wasted little time in setting the tone in the non-league contest, receiving a RBI single up the middle off the bat of Miglin in the first inning.

After UD countered with a run in the bottom of the first frame, UT captured the lead for good with an unearned tally on a Dayton throwing error in the second.

The Midnight Blue & Gold continued to produce good at-bats as the game rolled along, taking advantage of a sacrifice fly by senior DH Jeff Cola in the third inning, a two round tripper by Mix in the fourth and a RBI double off the bat of senior CF Ben Hammer in the seventh to make the difference, 6-1.

Dayton tried to claw its way back into the contest with a run-scoring single by C.J. Gillman in the bottom of the seventh frame, but UT retaliated with a two-out, solo home run by senior 1B Mark Lapikas in the ninth to stall out any potential threat.

UD fought to the bitter end and mustered a pair of the runs in its final at-bat by Ian Hundley and Gillman to set the final score at 7-4.

Dayton's Parker Schrage (0-5) was saddled with the setback, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits in the opening 3.0 innings.

Gillman paced the home team with a game-high four hits and three RBI.

Toledo will remain on the road for a three-game series at Xavier on March 16-18. Friday's contest from Hayden Field is slated for 3:00 p.m., while Saturday's and Sunday's games will begin at 1:00 p.m. and Noon, respectively.
