Toledo, OH - The Toledo men's tennis team will play its first Mid-American Conference home match this weekend, as it hosts Chicago State, an affiliate MAC member for men's tennis, on Friday, April 6. The match is slated to be played at 1 p.m. on the UT Varsity Tennis Courts.

The Rockets (14-8, 0-1 MAC) are looking to bounce back from last week's loss at Buffalo to claim its first conference win of the season. Despite having won nine of its previous 11 matches, the first MAC outing was still a wake-up call for a lineup that is extremely young. The coaching staff is confident that the team will continue to grow and improve with each conference match.

"This match is about our team, our week, and how professional we need to be to continue our improvement," said head coach Al Wermer. "The standard we have for preparation needs to be elevated and sustained during this time of the season, and our consistency in practice hasn't met our standard recently. Our guys will get it going for sure, as our teams always play their best tennis at end of the year."

Chicago State comes into the match with season record of 0-18, and is fresh of a 3-4 loss to Western Illinois.

Note: Friday is UT Student Day:  Fans will have the chance to play "hit-it-get-it" after the doubles matches for a chance to win free Rocket Tennis t-shirts.
