TOLEDO, OH – Toledo announced the winners of its postseason awards during the annual end-of-the-year banquet on Wednesday, April 30. Four awards were handed out after a team vote, including Most Valuable Player, Newcomer of the Year, Most Improved Player and Team Leadership.

"The leadership and unity that Benny, Nicky and Garrett cultivated this year was immense,” head coach Al Wermer said. “It was a fun journey, earning the No. 2 seed in the MAC Tournament, and it was because the players played for each other and worked hard every day."

Freshman Stjepan Sisko, who was awarded Co-MVP and Newcomer of the Year, was named First-Team All-Mid-American Conference and MAC Newcomer of the Year following a 15-8 overall record in singles play, while going 4-0 against conference competition. He also went 13-8 in doubles play.

Junior Mark Singnil was awarded second-team All-MAC honors and was also co-MVP with Sisko. He led the team in wins with a 16-7 singles record, and went 2-2 in MAC play.

Junior Nicky Wong and sophomore Garrett Cona also earned awards, as Wong took home the Team Leadership Award and Cona was voted Most Improved.
