Chris Selfridge in Third Place Following Three Rounds of MAC Championship
SUGAR GROVE, IL - Freshman Chris Selfridge continued his strong play down the stretch for the Rockets and stands alone in third place following Saturday's third round of the 2012 Mid-American Conference Championship. The tournament is being held at the par-72, 6,978-yard Rich Harvest Farms course.
Selfridge carded a second straight one-under par 71 to put him at one-under 215 (73-71-71) in the event, six strokes behind individual leader Corey Conners of Kent State (70-67-72=209). Selfridge was at one-over with four holes to play but registered birdies on No. 15 and No. 17 to close out his round.
The Rockets shot a 15-over 303 as a team to rank sixth in the standings. UT is just eight strokes behind Eastern Michigan, seven behind Ohio, four behind Ball State and three behind Miami. No. 18 Kent State is dominating the tourney and has a 40-stroke lead over the Eagles.
Rounding out Toledo's lineup are senior Dugan Murphy (T-21st/73-77-77=227), redshirt freshman Mike Lancaster (T-33rd/76-78-79=233), freshman Jamie Richardson (T-33rd/77-80-76=233) and freshman Pat Cermak (T-38th/78-75-83=236).
The Rockets will play 18 holes to conclude the tournament and their 2011-12 campaign on Sunday.
