Emma Kertesz (distance, Jr., 3.096, history) set a new all-time Mid-American Conference record in the 10,000-meters at the Stanford Invitational on Saturday, April 7. Emily Reuland (#2/3 Singles, #1 Doubles, So., 3.93, exercise science) had a perfect 4-0 record in the Falcons' two matches over the weekend. She won at both singles and doubles as BGSU lost a 5-2 decision on the road against three-time defending MAC regular-season champion and league-leading Miami on Friday, in a match that was much closer than the final score indicated. And, Reuland won twice in BGSU's 6-1 victory at Ball State the following day. At MU, Reuland teamed up with fellow sophomore Nikki Chiricosta for an 8-3 doubles win at the top flight, then defeated MU's Christiana Raymond in three sets at the third singles flight. At Ball State, Reuland and Chiricosta won an 8-1 decision at the number-one doubles flight, and Reuland moved up to the second flight in singles and topped the Cardinals' Kristel Sanders by a 6-2, 6-2 result. On the season, Reuland is now 20-8 in singles play and 21-7 in doubles. She leads the Falcons in singles wins (20), doubles victories (21) and overall wins (41). Reuland, 41-15 overall this season, has topped her win total for all of last year, when she went 40-21. Her 2011-12 total of 41 combined wins ranks among the top-20 in school history, as does her total of 21 doubles victories. Just a soph, she is only nine wins away from moving into the BGSU top-25 on the career overall wins list, with 81 victories as a Falcon to date.
