Pryde Yost is in his second year as an assistant track and field coach with Toledo, working with the pole vaulters.

Prior to joining the Rockets, Yost coached pole vault and long jump at Fremont Ross High School from 2008-11. Several athletes qualified for the regional and state meets under his guidance, on top of winning league and district championships.

Yost's coaching expertise is not limited to track and field, as he has also coaching swimming for 13 years. He has coached Sand Otter Swimming, a USA club swim program in Fremont, OH, since 1999. He also currently coaches the Fremont Middle School swim team, having started in 2007, and assists with the high school team when needed. Yost also spent the 2006 season coaching the Findlay Area Swim Team (FAST), another USA club swim program in Findlay, OH.

Yost competed in both track and field and swimming at the University of Findlay, having also spent two years at Terra State Community College. At Findlay, he was the captain of the men's swimming team and was named the Male Athlete of the Year.

Born and raised in Fremont, OH, Yost earned a degree in strength and conditioning physical education from Findlay, with an emphasis in personal training.
