Former Women's Soccer Player Alyssa Niese Named Valedictorian for College of Business & Innovation
TOLEDO, OH - Former Toledo women's soccer player Alyssa Niese has achieved perfection. Niese will graduate with an umblemished 4.0 grade-point average and is being honored as the Valedictorian in the College of Business & Innovation. She will give the Valedictorian address during tonight's graduation ceremony.
An operations management major with a minor in event planning and tourism, Niese started 49 of 67 matches on the pitch over the last four seasons with the Rockets. Described by her coaches as a steady, composed and intelligent defender, Niese played a significant role in 28 shutouts over the last three years.
A three-time Academic All-Mid-American Conference selection, Niese was part of a 2011 senior class that included Danielle Case, Kristen Lynn, Alyssa Niese, Ana Reynolds and Vicki Traven. That group equaled the school record with 56 total victories, a win total tied for 24th-most in the country according to collegesoccer360.com. They were also a part of three MAC regular-season titles (2008, ‘10, ‘11) and two MAC Tournament crowns (2008, ‘11).
