Post-Game Notes

With tonight's win, the Rockets improve to 11-4 in their last 15 home games.

Junior QB Terrance Owens made his third straight start under center, completing 27-of-36 passes for 290 yards and three touchdowns. Owens has now thrown multiple TD passes on two occasions this season and 11 times in his collegiate career. For the year, he has nine TDs with no interceptions. He has not thrown a pick since the second quarter of the Western Michigan game on Nov. 8, 2011, a string of 230 consecutive passes.

Junior WR Bernard Reedy caught a career-high 10 passes for a season-high 122 yards, including a 43-yard TD reception in the second quarter. Reedy topped the century mark for the second time this season and fifth time in his collegiate career. He now has 12 career TD receptions, one short of cracking the Top 10 in school history.

Senior LB Dan Molls paced the defense with a game-high 14 stops, including a QB sack and a breakup. Molls has now recorded double-digit tackles on three occasions in 2012.

Redshirt freshman LB Trent Voss was credited with 13 tackles. Voss came into tonight's game with one stop on the season.

Junior DE Jayrone Elliott recorded a career-high 2.0 sacks and finished with three tackles. Elliott came into tonight's game with one sack vs. Eastern Michigan on Oct. 8, 2011.

Sophomore RB Cassius McDowell tied his season high with 13 carries for a team-best 50 yards, including a six-yard TD scamper in the third period.

Redshirt freshman WR Alonzo Russell reeled in a season-high seven catches for 97 yards.
Senior TE Cordale Scott finished with three catches for 32 yards, hauling in a six-yard TD reception in the first quarter and a seven-yard TD catch in the fourth. Scott's two TD receptions were the first in his career.

Redshirt freshman WR Zach Rogers caught his first collegiate pass for no gain in the opening quarter.

Junior DL Elijah Jones was injured in the second quarter. He returned to start the third period and finished with three tackles.

Junior RB David Fluellen suffered a leg injury in the third period and did not return. Fluellen carried the ball six times for 25 yards.

Junior P Vince Penza averaged a stellar 46.5 yards on six punts, including a 52-yard boot. Two of Penza's kicks were downed inside the 20-yard line. For the season, he has nine kicks dropped inside the opponent's 20-yard line. 

Freshman DE Chris Collins and junior DB Vladimir Emilien made their UT debuts in the first quarter. Emilien had six tackles in tonight's non-league matchup.

Toledo was 5-of-6 in red-zone opportunities this evening and is now 12-of-16 on the season.

UT posted a season-high 5.0 sacks, including a collegiate-best 2.0 sacks by junior DE Jayrone Elliott. Toledo came into tonight's contest tied for fifth in the MAC, averaging 2.00 sacks per game.

The Rockets were credited with nine pass breakups, including two each by senior S Jermaine Robinson and redshirt freshman LB Trent Voss.  - Your Source for Rocket Sports
