WILLIAMSBURG, VA - Toledo sits in fourth place and is just nine strokes out of the lead following Sunday's opening round of William and Mary's C&F Bank Intercollegiate. The tournament is being played on the River Course at Kingsmill Resort. 

Senior Piyathida Chaiyapan leads the Rockets and is tied for second place in the individual standings at one-over par 72. Senior Georgina Hunt is tied for sixth place with a four-over par 75, while sophomore Kate Hoops is tied for 19th place at seven-over par 78. Rounding out the Rocket lineup are freshmen Stephanie St-Jean (T-63rd/84) and Jennifer Elsholz (T-75th/87).

The Rockets were at 10-over par through 12 holes but ended up their round at 25-over par 309.

"We played some of our best golf of the year in our first 12 holes," Toledo Head Coach Nicole Hollingsworth said. "We just have to learn how to finish our round. From an individual standpoint, it was good to see both of our seniors (Nam and Georgie) play well. They are our two veterans, and we need them to lead us."

Longwood holds the clubhouse lead in the 21-team field at 300 (+16), and the Lancers also boasted the individual leader in Kameron Carter with an even-par 71.

The C&F Bank Intercollegiate continues Monday and Tuesday with one round each day.
