EAST LANSING, MI - Toledo posted a 10th-place finish at this weekend's Mary Fossum Invitational, hosted by Michigan State at Forest Akers West Golf Course.

The Rockets registered a team-score of 322 today to finish with a 54-hole total of 91-over par 955. The host Spartans captured the team title at 28-over par 892 (286-298-308), 15 strokes ahead of second-place Ohio State (299-305-303=907).

MSU's Caroline Powers earned medalist honors after carding a three-round total of one-over par 217 (71-71-75), four shots ahead of Michigan's Yugene Lee (75-73-73=221).

Freshman Becky Martin led the Rockets in the tournament by tying for 32nd place at 20-over par 236 (76-80-80). Senior Piyathida Chaiyapan (78-77-82) and junior Allison Schultz (78-79-80) were one stroke behind Martin and tied for 34th place at 21-over par 237. Rounding out the Rocket lineup were sophomore Kate Hoops (T-50th/80-85-80=245) and redshirt freshman Megan Carroll (T-56th/81-85-82=248). Freshman Jennifer Elsholz competed as an individual and finished tied for 58th place at 34-over par 250 (81-89-80).

Toledo will now take two weeks off before heading to Lexington, KY for the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational on Sept. 30-Oct. 2.
