TOLEDO, OH - Freshman Stephanie St-Jean (Findlay, OH) qualified for the 2012 USGA Women's Amateur Public Links Championship on Wednesday after finishing second at the Elyria Country Club in Elyria, OH.

"This is very exciting for Stephanie and for our program and anytime you qualify for a USGA national event it's special," Toledo Head Coach Nicole Hollingsworth said. "This summer is very important for Stephanie, and I'm looking forward to seeing her game continue to improve. Playing tournament golf is the way to do that, and she has definitely started in the right direction."

St-Jean participated in nine tournaments in her freshman campaign and posted an 82.6 stroke average. Her top showing was a 16th-place tie at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate (March 18-20) with a season-best season-best 232 (84-74-74).

The 2012 Championship will be help at the Neshanic Valley Golf Course Neshanic Station, NJ on June 18-23.
