MUNDARE, AB — Junior Becky Martin (Medicine Hat, AB) tied for third place at the Sun Life Financial Alberta Ladies Amateur Championship last week at White Tail Crossing Golf Club. Martin shot a seven-over par 223 (74-75-74) and will represent Alberta in the Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship from July 22-25 at the Craigowan Golf & Country Club in Woodstock, ONT.

“Becky has had a great start to her summer,” Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year Nicole Hollingsworth said. “She has really worked hard to get back to playing golf, and I’m very happy she is enjoying some success.”

Martin, who finished fourth in the Alberta Amateur each of the last two years, sat out the 2013-14 campaign at Toledo due to a wrist injury. She has posted a 79.9 stroke average in two seasons of competition for the Rockets.
