Janelle Noe to compete in USTAF Junior Outdoor Championship
TOLEDO, OH – Sophomore Janelle Noe will travel to Eugene, OR this weekend to compete in the 2014 United States Track and Field Junior National Outdoor Championships. Noe qualified and has entered to race in the 1,500-meter run and 3,000 meter steeplechase.
The Sylvania, OH native placed in the top-five and finished with a time of 4:29.74 at the Mid-American Conference Championships to qualify for the 1,500-meter race. She posted a 10:54.64 time at the Hillsdale GINA Relays earlier this season to qualify for the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
The meet will take place at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field. Round one of the 1,500-meter races is scheduled for Saturday, July 5 at 7:06 p.m. (PT) while the 3,000-meter steeplechase will take place the following day at 3:35 p.m. (PT).
The USTAF Junior Outdoor Championships serves as a qualifier for the 2014 International Association of Athletics Federations World Championships. The top two performers in each race will be part of the American team during the World Championships from July 22-27 in Eugene, OR.
