TOLEDO, OH – Juniors Mackenzie Chojnacky and Liz Weiler and sophomore Brooke Tullis have all qualified for the 2014 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field East Region Preliminary Championships on Thursday-Saturday, May 29-31 at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, FL.
“I’m extremely happy for these three young ladies to qualify for their first NCAA Outdoor Track Championship,” head coach Linh Nguyen said. “This is a great accomplishment and further validates the hard work and commitment they’ve shown. Brooke, Mackenzie and Liz have all run huge personal best times this year and put up some of the best times in Toledo and MAC history. I feel confident that they all have a strong chance to get through the first round to the finals in Eugene next month. I know that they are excited and ready to get to Florida and prove that they are national-caliber runners.”
Chojnacky and Weiler each qualified for the 3,000-meter steeplechase, posting impressive times at last week’s Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
