Women’s Track and Field Take Three Top 10 Finishes in First Day of Meyo Invitational
SOUTH BEND, IN - The Toledo women’s track and field team recorded three top 10 finishes on Friday, Feb. 7 in the first day of the Meyo Invitational hosted by Notre Dame.
In the 5,000-meter run, juniors Brooke Tullis (Maumee, OH) and Megan Gaysunas (Granville, OH) claimed a 6th place and 10th place finish, respectively, with times of 16:50.96 and 17:05.24 to score the team’s first high finishes of the day.
Senior Sarah Woodrum (Marion, OH), junior Julia Pusateri (Canton, OH) and sophomores Maja Pacaric (Zagreb, Croatia) and Theresa Warsecke (Benzonia, MI) teamed up to finish sixth in the distance medley relay.
Despite a dropped baton at the beginning of the race, the team posted a time of 12:07.92, defeating Mid-American Conference foe Eastern Michigan.
Action begins tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. in day two of the Meyo Invitational at the Loftus Sports Center.
