Inma Zanoguera Tabbed MAC West Division Player of the Week for Second Time in 2013-14
CLEVELAND, OH - Junior Inma Zanoguera was tabbed the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Zanoguera received the accolade for a second time in the first three weeks this season and third time in her career after tallying a team-tying best 21 points, a squad-best nine caroms, three thefts, two dimes and one rejection in 36 minutes at UMKC last Wednesday, Nov. 20. She shot 9-of-11 from the field and 3-of-4 from the charity stripe against the Kangaroos to score at least 20 points for a second time in 2013-14 and third time overall.
Overall this season, Zanoguera leads the MAC in field goal percentage (62.2%, 23-of-37), as well as ranking second in steals (2.8 spg), tied for third in scoring (16.8 ppg), tied for fourth in offensive boards (3.3 rpg), fifth in rebounding (9.3 rpg), tied for sixth in defensive rebounds (6.0 rpg), ninth in minutes played (32.0 mpg), 11th in assists (3.3 apg) and free throw percentage (84.0%, 21-of-25) and 12th in assist/turnover ratio (1.2).
Zanoguera and the Rockets will return to the court this weekend when they head to "The Golden State" to participate in the SMC Hilton Concord Thanksgiving Classic. UT will face Cal State Fullerton (1-3) in the opening round on Friday, Dec. 29 at Noon (PT) in the McKeon Pavilion (3,500). The following afternoon, UT will tangle with host Saint Mary’s (CA) (5-0) at approximately 2:30 p.m. (PT).
