NICEVILLE, FL - Freshman Stjepan Sisko (Kastel Stari, Croatia) advanced to the third round of the USTA Bluewater Bay Pro Circuit Championships Futures division on Saturday, Nov. 2 in Niceville, FL.

Sisko defeated Brandon Christopher of the United States 6-3, 6-2 in the first round before Piero Luisi of Venezuela, ranked No. 979 internationally, forfeited the second-round match. Sisko's third round match will take place either Sunday, Nov. 3 or Monday, Nov. 4.

"Stjepan labored through his match a bit but he put enough balls in play to get the win," head coach Al Wermer said. "I know he'll keep improving his game for tomorrow, and he's excited for his next match and a very big challenge in the third round."

Sisko will face off with the winner of Johan Backstrom, ranked No. 39 in Sweden, and Vadym Kalyuzhnyy of Ukraine.

Juniors Nicky Wong (Mansfield, OH) and Roberto Meza (Antofagasta, Chile) also competed in Saturday's competition, but were knocked out in the first round. Wong lost a hard fought match to Brandon Weston, the No. 306-ranked player in the United States, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (5), while Meza fell to 6-1, 6-2 to Sebastian Rey of Great Britain.
