TOLEDO, OH – The Toledo women’s tennis team travels to Ann Arbor, MI on Thursday, Oct. 10 for the six-day ITA Midwest Regional Championships hosted by the University of Michigan. The winners of each draw will receive a berth to the ITA National Indoor Championships in Charlottesville, VA in February.

The event will feature eight singles players ranked in the top 120 and three doubles teams in the top 50, including the No. 3 doubles team of Brooke Bolender and Emina Bektas from the host Wolverines.

“It's a privilege to qualify for this event as the best players in the Midwest will be there,” head coach Tracy Mauntler said. “It will be a great opportunity to play against some players from teams ranked in the top 20 in the country.”

Five Rockets will travel to Ann Arbor to compete as senior Chrissy Coffman, junior Pia Rygh and sophomore Katelyn Nguyen will compete in the singles qualifier beginning Thursday. In doubles competition, Coffman and Nguyen form one team, while sophomores Mackenzie Bowman and Emily Mazzola will make up the other squad scheduled to begin on Friday.

The Rockets will begin their winter season on Friday, Jan. 17 with a match against Cincinnati.
