EAST LANSING, MI - The Toledo women’s tennis team completed a strong weekend at the Spartan Invitational in East Lansing, MI, as senior Chrissy Coffman earned her second consecutive singles championship. Coffman has compiled a 10-0 singles record this fall, and has won all five matches as a doubles team with sophomore Mackenzie Bowman.

“I'm extremely proud of the team's accomplishments at the Spartan Invite,” head coach Tracy Mauntler said. “We had some great wins over big programs and these wins will be great to build on as this young team keeps getting better. Going 10-0 in the fall is such an impressive accomplishment for Chrissy and I couldn't be prouder of her.”

Coffman rolled through her opponents en route to the Flight B singles title, defeating Anastasia Tripolskaya from Wisconsin 6-0, 6-4 in the finals. Teammate freshman Kayleigh Hall advanced to the quarterfinals, before Coffman was able to knock her out.

In flight B doubles, Coffman claimed another win, teaming up with Bowman to beat Mariana Palados and Ann-Sophie Hahn from the University of Illinois-Chicago in a close match 9-8 (9) in the finals.

The Rockets complete their fall schedule on Thursday, Oct. 10 when they travel to Ann Arbor, MI for the ITA Regional Tournament.
