Toledo at the NCAA Men’s Golf Championships
Toledo has appeared as a team in the NCAA regionals on seven occasions (1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004) and advanced to the NCAA Championship four times (1999, 2001, 2002, 2004). UT’s best showing was tying for 14th place in 2002. Selfridge is the first Rocket to compete in the NCAAs as an individual.

Selfridge at OSU’s Scarlet Course
Chris Selfridge played the Scarlet Course last year and posted the best showing of his career (at the time) with a sixth-place finish (79-71-74=224) at the 2012 Robert Kepler Intercollegiate. The opening day of the tournament was played in wet and soggy conditions. He helped Toledo register a seventh-place finish as a team in a field that included three of the nation’s Top 50 teams.

Follow the Leader
Chris Selfridge finished as the top Rocket in nine of the 10 events he competed in this season. He has nine Top-20 individual finishes, eight in the Top 10 and five among the Top Five -- including his first career win at the 2012 Georgetown Intercollegiate on Oct. 22-23. For his career, he has cracked the Top 20 in 13 of 21 career events, including 12 in the Top 10 and six in the Top Five.

An All-Conference Performer
Chris Selfridge has earned All-MAC honors in each of his first two years as a Rocket, receiving second-team accolades last season after posting a 74.3 mark en route to earning MAC Freshman of the Year honors. He is leading the MAC this year with a 71.9 figure, garnering first-team laurels.

On the International Scene
Chris Selfridge continued his strong finish to his freshman season when he finished in the Top 10 in his final three events by winning the Irish Amateur last summer. Selfridge carded a five-under par 283 (66-72-70-75) in the event to win by two strokes. Past winners of the event have included Padraig Harrington, Graeme McDowell, Darren Clarke and Rory McIlroy.
Selfridge then was chosen to represent Ireland in South Africa at the 10 Nations Cup (Feb. 6-9) as well as South African Amateur Stroke Play Event (Feb. 12-15). He tied for 21st at the Ten Nations Cup with a two-under par 286 (71-71-71-73) and tied for 16th at the Stroke Play event at one-under par 287 (72-69-75-71). He then participated in the Spanish Amateur (Feb. 27-March 3) but didn’t make the cut after two rounds.
