TOLEDO - The University of Toledo football team will hold an open practice at Mentor High School on Friday, April 5 at 6:00 p.m. The practice will be a benefit for former UT women's basketball player Ashlee Barrett, who is battling leukemia.
The theme for the event is "Faith Not Fear," which has been Ashlee's motto as she has battled her disease over the past year. She is engaged to former Rocket football player Ben Pike, who attended Mentor High School and is scheduled to speak at the practice.

"Ashlee's courage throughout her ordeal has been an inspiration for our football team," said UT head coach Matt Campbell. "We want to do anything we can to help her and Ben so moving the practice to Ben's high school seemed like a great idea. It will be a very special practice for our team. Ashlee has been in all our thoughts and prayers a lot lately, but will be even more so on Friday."

Admission to the practice is free but donations for Ashlee will accepted at the game. Mentor High School is located at 6477 Center Street in Mentor, OH. It is located about 25 miles east of Cleveland, about a 2:15 drive from Toledo.

Donations for Ashlee may also be dropped off or mailed to:
