Toledo Manufactures Eight Top-Five Finishes at Gladstein Invitational

Bloomington, IN - The Toledo indoor track team competed well at the Gladstein Invitational hosted by Indiana on Friday and Saturday. Four Rockets posted automatic-qualifying marks for the Mid-American Conference championships and UT completed the meet with eight top-five finishes overall.

Senior Yuhong Fu finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 39-feet, four-inches to surpass the MAC qualifying mark of 38-feet, six-inches.

Sophomore Mackenzie Chojnacky and freshman Brooke Tullis both qualified in the 3,000-meter run with third and fifth place finishes, respectively. Chojnacky ran a time of 9:32.60 and Tullis finished at 9:42.21. Junior Kaylin Belair finished 12th-overall with a time of 9:58.80, which is just shy of the qualifying mark of 9:57.02.

Freshman Liz Weiler dominated the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:05.12, beating the second-place runner by more than 12 seconds. Weiler scorched the qualifying mark of 17:33.47 and now tops the MAC list by 18 seconds.

Up next for the Rockets is the Bowling Green Tom Wright Classic on Friday, Jan. 25.
