St-Jean & Stephens Tied for 28th place at Pure Silk Women’s Collegiate Team Championship
TOLEDO, OH - The Toledo team of sophomores Stephanie St-Jean and Lauren Stephens are tied for 28th place following Wednesday's second round of the third-annual Pure Silk Women's Collegiate Team Championship. The tournament, which is presented by the National Golf Coaches Association and is considered the most unique summer national women's amateur championship, is being held at Wedgewood Golf & Country Club in Powell, OH.
Day two featured a best-ball format, where both golfers play out each hole and take the best single score between them. The duo combined to shoot 67, 20 shots better than their first-day alternate shot total of 87. Highlighting the round was Stephens' first-ever hole-in-one.
Toledo is tied for second place with Bowling Green (75-79) among four Mid-American Conference schools. Eastern Michigan is 10th overall among the 54 schools with a 36-hole score of 144 (77-67), while Ohio (88-75-163) is in 45th place.
The third and final round takes place Thursday morning. The third round format is Team Stroke.
