TOLEDO, OH - Toledo's season, which saw the Rockets register a 15- win improvement from a year ago, came to a close Saturday afternoon in Savage Arena with a 69-51 defeat to Robert Morris (26-10) in the second round of the 2012 Tournament.

Sophomore G Rian Pearson topped the Rockets offensively with 14 points and was the only UT player to score in double figures. Junior G Curtis Dennis tallied nine points, while sophomore F Reese Holliday and freshman G Julius Brown scored seven points each.

Sophomore G Coron Williams paced the Colonials with a game-high 17 points and was joined in double figures by junior G Lucky Jones (13 pts., team-high six reb.), junior G Velton Jones (10 pts.) and junior F Russell Johnson (10 pts.).

Robert Morris held a sizable 35-26 advantage on the glass and also held UT to its second-lowest shooting mark (35.3 FG%) of the season. The Colonials shot 50.0 percent from the field, including a sizzling 47.6 percent (10-of-21) from behind the three-point arc.

UT (19-17) couldn't get any shots to fall from the tip as the Colonials' stifling defense limited the Rockets to a 20.7 first-half field-goal percentage.

Toledo missed its first 16 shots of the game as the Colonials surged to an 18-3 advantage.  Sophomore C Richard Wonnell ended UT's draught at the 8:18 mark of the first by grabbing an offensive board and laying it back in.

The Rockets were able to cut their deficit to single digits, 34-26, by scoring six straight points three minutes into the second half. However, the Colonials responded with a 6-0 burst of their own to restore a 14-point cushion.

The closest UT came the rest of the contest was within 12 points.  - Your Source for Rocket Sports
