OXFORD, OH - Toledo's softball team was limited to nine hits over two games, falling 2-0 to Michigan State and 8-0 to host Miami to conclude play at the Miami Invitational on Sunday.

Toledo (6-19) finished with a 2-3 record in the three-day tournament.

The Rockets stayed even with Michigan State through the opening three innings, but the Spartans scored the game's lone two runs in the fourth. Consecutive infield singles, a double and a sacrifice fly accounted for Michigan State's two tallies in the frame.

UT had a pair of scoring chances. The Rockets had two runners reach in the second on a pair of Spartan errors, but could not come up with the clutch hit. In the fifth, Audrey Harner singled and Brooke Gates walked, but a double play ended the scoring threat.

Hannah Rockhold was the tough-luck loser for Toledo, as she went the distance and scattered seven hits.

Game two's action against the RedHawks - which did not count towards the MAC standings - was nip-and-tuck until the fourth, when Miami broke through with seven runs on six hits and two UT errors.

Miami entered the inning with a 1-0 lead but took advantage of Toledo's defensive miscues, as just one of the RedHawks' seven tallies in the fourth was earned.

The Rockets had runners on base in every inning, with the best chance to score coming in the third. However, the Rockets left the bases loaded and MU capitalized.

Gates and Erinn Wright both had two hits on the day for Toledo, who returns to action at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24 with a doubleheader at Notre Dame.
