Post-Game Notes

Today’s attendance was announced as 56,785, signifying the 10th-largest crowd the Rockets have played in front of in school history. The school record is 107,267 at Michigan on Oct, 11, 2008.

Senior RB David Fluellen carried the ball 17 times for 111 yards, topping the century mark for the eighth time in his career. Fluellen also finished with career highs in receptions (10) and receiving yards (100). His previous best effort was six catches vs. Northern Illinois on Nov. 14, 2012. The 10 receptions also sets the school record for most catches by a running back (previous record was seven, held by three players).

Sophomore WR Alonzo Russell totaled seven catches for a game-high 101 yards, topping triple digits for the third time in his career. Russell also reeled in a 41-yard TD reception in the third quarter.

Junior PK Jeremiah Detmer tied his career high with three field goals. Detmer converted a 24-yard field goal in the first quarter, as well as a 46-yarder and a 41-yarder in the second. He also made three field goals against Wyoming (Sept. 8, 2012) and Cincinnati (Oct. 20, 2012). Detmer has now made 22-consecutive field goals, dating back to last season. The school history is 23 consecutive field goals by Alex Steigerwald in 2007-08.

Jeremiah Detmer also punted for the first time as a collegian, averaging 30.0 yards on three kicks.

Junior LB Junior Sylvestre led the defense with a career-high 13 tackles. Sylvestre’s previous career high was 11 stops at Florida last Saturday.

Senior QB Terrance Owens completed 26-of-41 passes for 262 yards and one TD. Owens was also credited with a four-yard TD run in the second quarter. It was UT’s first TD of the season. With today’s touchdown strike, Owens passed Chuck Ealey (1969-71) for fourth place in school history with 46 career TD passes.  

Sophomore LB Chase Murdock finished with a collegiate-best 12 stops, including a sack in second quarter. Murdock’s previous career high was nine tackles at Florida last Saturday.

Senior DE Jayrone Elliott recorded a sack in the second consecutive game, tallying a stop behind the line of scrimmage in first quarter. Elliott finished with five tackles.

Sophomore DL Chris Collins was credited with his first collegiate sack in first period. Collins totaled two stops in the contest.

Freshman DB Jordan Martin picked off his first collegiate pass in the second quarter. Martin finished with three tackles.

Redshirt freshman DL Treyvon Hester registered his first collegiate sack in second period. Hester finished with three stops.

Junior CB Cameron Cole made his first collegiate start and finished with four tackles.

UT scored on its opening possession in today’s contest, converting a 24-yard field goal by junior PK Jeremiah Detmer.  

Toledo's captains for today’s game were senior WR Bernard Reedy, senior QB Terrance Owens, senior DE Christian Smith, senior SS Ross Madison and senior OL Zac Kerin.
