TOLEDO - The University of Toledo football team is back in the Top 25 for the first time in over a decade.

The latest Associated Press media poll ranks the Rockets No. 23 with 146 total points. The USA Today coaches poll puts Toledo at No. 25 with 108 points. Toledo also cracked the BCS Top 25 for the first time since the BCS rankings begin in 1998, ranking No. 25 in the computer-generated formular that determines the participants for the national championship game and other BCS matchups.

Toledo (8-1, 5-0 MAC) was off this weekend and hosts Ball State (6-3, 3-2 MAC) on Tuesday night (8:00 p.m./ESPN2). Toledo first-year head coach Matt Campbell said the Rockets are only thinking about that game and little else.

"It's nice to be ranked and to be recognized on a national basis," said Campbell. "But rankings are not really relevant to the task at hand. We are facing a very good Ball State team on Tuesday and that is all we are focused on right now."

The last time Toledo was in the Top 25 was in the final AP and USA Today coaches polls in 2001, the debut season for head coach Tom Amstutz. Led by running back Chester Taylor, the Rockets ended the season 10-2 and were ranked No. 22 in the USA Today poll and No. 23 in the AP poll.
