The Toledo-Boise State football game on Sept. 16 earned a 2.2 rating, which translates into 2,125,505 households or 2,724,649 viewers, the most ever to watch a UT football game. 

It is also the highest-rated ESPN football telecast originating from a MAC stadium in Mid-American Conference history. The previous high was a 2.0 rating on ESPN2 for the 1999 MAC Football Championship Game between Marshall and Western Michigan at Marshall Stadium.
