Larrita Gipson and the Rockets will put their three-game win streak on the line at UTEP on Tuesday, Nov. 24 in the Don Haskins Center.

EL PASO, TX - Toledo (3-1) will put its three-game win streak on the line at UTEP (1-2) on Tuesday, Nov. 24 in the Don Haskins Center. The non-conference contest will tip off at 7:00 p.m. (MT).

UT is coming off a hard-fought 68-50 victory against Saint Peter's on Saturday. The Rockets dominated the Peahens on the inside and held a commanding 42-20 edge in points in the paint.

Senior Tanika Mays paced UT's strong effort on the interior with 14 points, while freshman Yolanda Richardson had the best game of her young collegiate career with 13 points, nine caroms and five blocked shots off the bench. Senior Allie Clifton and freshman Lecretia Smith also had quality efforts in the post, finishing with nine and eight points, respectively.

The Rockets also won the battle on the boards, 38-35, including 18-13 on the offensive glass, and had a decisive 30-4 edge in bench points.

Toledo, which is 1-0 away from home this season, is fueled offensively by the trio of sophomore Naama Shafir, Mays and Clifton, who are averaging 16.3, 14.8 and 11.5 ppg, respectively. UT has six players averaging 6.0 or more points per game.

UTEP enters Tuesday's home opener on the heels of a 64-40 road loss at Arkansas-Little Rock on Saturday. The Miners were paced by Timika Wiliams with 14 points and eight rebounds, while Fannie Goodwin and Jareica Hughes chipped in nine and seven points, respectively.

UTEP features an attack with three players averaging at least 8.7 points per game led by Hughes' 12.7 ppg, 3.7 apg and 1.3 spg.

The two teams will be meeting for only the second time, with the Miners defeating the Rockets in the Glass City, 64-56, on Dec. 21, 2007.

Following Tuesday's contest, Toledo will travel to Albuquerque, NM on Friday-Saturday, Nov. 27-28 to participate in the Holiday Inn & Suites Express Tournament on the University of New Mexico campus. The Rockets will battle Yale in the opening round at 5:00 p.m. (MT) in the Pit. The other teams participating in the two-day tourney include North Carolina A&T and the host Lobos.
