TOLEDO, OH - Toledo looks to extend its winning streak to three games on Saturday, Nov. 21 when it battles Saint Peter's in non-conference action. The Rockets (2-1) face the Peacocks (1-1) at noon in Savage Arena.

UT is coming off an impressive 87-75 victory at Oakland on Wednesday. Sophomore Naama Shafir poured in a career-high 36 points to lead the offensive charge against the Golden Grizzlies, to go along with seven boards and seven helpers. Shafir tallied 28 of UT's 49 second-half points, including an amazing 22 points-in-a-row during one stretch. The Hoshaya, Israel native finished 9-of-14 from the floor, including 4-of-5 from three-point range, and 14-of-15 from the free-throw line, registering the most points by a Rocket since Kelly Walker also had 36 points vs. Hampton on Dec. 21, 2002.

Senior Tanika Mays was the only other Rocket in double figures with 17 points and a team-high nine boards. Senior Allie Clifton and junior Jessica Williams added nine points each in the winning effort.

Toledo shot a season-high 56.0 percent (28-of-50) from the field, including a sizzling 55.6 percent (10-of-18) from three-point land, and an even better 87.5 percent (21-of-24) from the charity stripe.

With the score tied for the 10th time, 59-59, at the 7:38 mark, Shafir knocked down a pair of free throws to give the Rockets a lead they would not relinquish. The second-year letterwinner then hit back-to-back triples to finish off her impressive scoring run, moments before Mays dialed long distance to extend UT's margin to 69-62 with 5:19 remaining.

The Rockets are fueled offensively by the trio of Shafir, Mays and Clifton, who are averaging 19.7, 15.0 and 12.3 ppg, respectively. UT has five players averaging 7.5 or more points per game.

UT will be facing a Saint Peter's squad that has split its first two contests of the 2009-10 campaign, claiming a 61-38 win at Lafayette College on Friday, Nov. 13 and an 88-72 loss at South Florida on Monday, Nov. 16.

The Peacocks feature a balanced attack with four players averaging double figures led by Jynae Judson's 15.5 ppg, 6.0 rpg and 2.0 apg. Alena Ali (14.5 ppg, 6.0 rpg), Charlene Riddick (13.0 ppg, team-high 8.0 rpg) and Natasha Morris (12.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.0 apg) are also averaging double digits for sixth-year head coach Stephanie DeWolfe.
Following tomorrow's contest, Toledo will travel to El Paso, TX on Tuesday, Nov. 24 to battle UTEP. Tip-off will be 7:00 p.m. (MT) in the Don Haskins Center.
