TOLEDO, OH - Freshman guard Jake Barnett has earned a spot on the 2009-10 Mid-American Conference's All-Freshman Team, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
Barnett ranked second among league freshman with a team-high 12.9 points per game and his 414 points are the second-most points scored by a freshman in school history. He also led the Rockets with a 37.0 three-point field goal percentage, 2.22 three-point field goals per game, an 80.2 free-throw percentage and 34.1 minutes per game.
The Wauwatosa, WI native ranked sixth in the MAC in minutes per game, ninth in free-throw percentage, 11th in three-point field-goal percentage and 13th in scoring. He led UT with 24 double-figure scoring contests, including four 20-point efforts.
Barnett served as one of the team's co-captains and was part of a freshman class that accounted for 60.6 percent of the Rockets' scoring, including 62.3 percent in conference action.
